The facts lead the majority to review priorities. The synthesis on a provision on health that also allows for the ASL to be placed under special administration is far away. The Democratic Party has understood this and is now trying to move the time horizon of the reorganization: from "immediately", even "before the Budget", to "by June 2025".

The terms

Something has changed. Only at the last Pd management meeting, the councilor for the Budget (and vice president of the party) Giuseppe Meloni had gone out on a limb on the need to address health issues in the Chamber even before the maneuver. Yesterday it was the Democratic secretary (and president of the Regional Council) Piero Comandini who communicated a new deadline to the microphones of Videolina: «Within the first half of 2025». He did so by admitting that Campo Largo has not yet come together on a shared proposal. After all, «on such a complex matter that concerns many interests and rights of the Sardinians, it is essential that there are different positions. This means that we will witness the enrichment of a proposal that will be as collegial as possible». A position that will be brought directly to the table tomorrow at 5 pm in the Regional Council with the president of the Region Alessandra Todde and all the majority councilors.

The appointments

Now, Campo largo can also take its time, let the Regional Council focus on the budget session, but the problem remains: Tuesday, in the first of the two sessions that will be held exceptionally at Palazzo Bacaredda, on the agenda is the motion of no confidence presented by the center-right against the Health Councilor Armando Bartolazzi. It will almost certainly be sent back to the sender, as often happens in these cases, but the majority forces must unite to defend the councilor who was distrusted by the opposition. Which is not easy, considering that a good part of the criticisms made to the Health Director came from the majority that supports him.

The center-right

Stefano Tunis of Sardegna al centro 20Venti explains: «Councillor Bartolazzi continues his forays into the health management sector, forgetting his role as a political leader. We hope that on Tuesday this grotesque page in the history of Sardinian health will come to an end. The temptation is to ask for an open vote to see who in the majority will have the courage to keep him in that role». A secret vote will certainly not be allowed, which the Council's regulation does not provide for when motions of no confidence are being discussed.

In any case, Pero Comandini argues, «the motion will be the opportunity that will allow Councilor Bartolazzi to explain well what his strategy is and what his intentions are in terms of health. It will be a moment of transparency and clarity on the health policy of this Council».

But this is not enough: many majority councilors insist on the need to appoint a commissioner for the health companies. The next shared measure must be functional to this. And many expect the assessor to present himself tomorrow at the majority summit with a more detailed proposal to replace the current directors.
