Giorgio Casu, an artist from San Gavino Monreale, has won the tender for the construction of the Santa Lucia staircase in the historic center of Arzachena for the second time. There were 5 ideas received for the installation, this year dedicated to the theme of peace, which will be inaugurated in Easter week.

The work will be called “Sharing”. It is Giorgio Casu himself who reveals the content of the work for which there is anticipation for the way it will be artistically presented: «I chose to depict a girl with a book in her hand along the staircase. Here, Alice is a woman who is not afraid to show her passions and the search for her identity. This research should be an absolute right and not a luxury or a cultural denial. With this right also comes the duty of the ability to relate to others, different or similar, to seek a common path to peace and integration in the world we share. I called this work “Sharing” because it is a prerogative and not a dream, at least in Alice's world».

The delegate for Culture, Valentina Geromino, does not hide her satisfaction with the assignment of an encore to the artist from San Gavino: «There is great expectation and curiosity for this new intervention which has consolidated over time as an essential artistic-cultural event for revitalize the historic center. The installation also becomes - concludes the delegate - a tool for transmitting messages rich in meaning to the community and to visitors from all over the world, who have always chosen our holiday destination».
