In Arzachena, New Year's Eve brings a name capable of attracting crowds and media attention: Achille Lauro. This event is aiming for record numbers, growing tourism, and visibility that extends well beyond the region's borders. It's the sign of a city that chooses to compete with Italy's major cities and play its part as a leading player.

And in saying this this morning during the presentation press conference, the delegate for Entertainment, Nicoletta Orecchioni, was quite clear: "We can compete with all the cities that organize New Year's Eve and be among the top attractions in Sardinia, and this fills us with pride."

This is what can truly be called the "Lauro effect," which, according to more than realistic forecasts, will bring thousands of people to Arzachena not only from the rest of the island, but also from the mainland and abroad. It's no coincidence that the chosen venue is the Biagio Pirina municipal stadium, which is estimated to hold up to 10,000 spectators. However, forecasts predict an even greater turnout, so much so that not everyone might be able to fit inside the stadium. For this reason, outdoor spaces equipped with giant screens will be set up.

"It's going to be a great New Year's Eve. There's going to be a lot of competition, and we like competition," said Sebastiano Pisciottu, owner of the Levonski company that organizes the event.

"The artist was hired last June, because we knew there would be a real "war" this year for New Year's Eve. We wanted to secure a name like Achille Lauro right away, and this year is truly his year."

Mayor Roberto Ragnedda was also pleased: "We've made a significant investment of €550,000, which is essential for the artist and all the collateral activities related to the event."
