200 thousand euros arrive from the Region for the valorization of the Li Muri archaeological site in Arzachena.
«Arzachena has joined two campaigns which aim to obtain the inclusion of Sardinian archaeological sites in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites», says Valentina Geromino, delegate for Culture.
«One of these is the funerary circle of Li Muri, one of the oldest finds from which the Arzachena culture originates and dating back to the Middle Neolithic period (4,400 - 4,000 BC). To qualify the site for the purposes of a favorable evaluation for accreditation - explains Valentina Geromino - functional interventions are necessary to guarantee better use of the site. Among the priorities identified by the Municipality, on the basis of the technical sheets provided by the University of Cagliari, the following are essential for the valorisation of the site: the introduction of a video surveillance system, the integration of lighting, the maintenance of fences and paths of access, the cleaning of the plates, the study and cataloging of the finds preserved at the Sanna museum in Sassari, the creation of interactive tools and smart technologies to encourage the dissemination of the available multimedia material and the creation of scale models useful for schools and visitors with disabilities".
