This year, Sardinia will once again be on display at Artigiano in Fiera, the major international event dedicated to crafts and micro and small businesses, held at Milan-Rho Fiera. Each year, it attracts over 1.5 million visitors and showcases the cultural traditions of more than a hundred countries from every continent.
For the thirtieth consecutive time—the only Italian region consistently present—the Island is participating with the aim of "promoting and showcasing its manufacturing tradition, the talent of its artisans, and the quality of its agri-food products."
The event is in Pavilion 2, at a stand spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, where the Sardinia Region, in collaboration with the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce, is hosting and supporting 36 micro and small artisan businesses, each specializing in a specific product category: from fabric embroidery to gold and coral jewelry, from ceramics to knives, from clothing to furnishing accessories, from leather, stone, wood, and cork products to natural cosmetics.
"Artigiano in Fiera is an unmissable opportunity to promote artisanal excellence and boost micro and small businesses in a key sector for Sardinia," emphasizes Franco Cuccureddu, Councilor for Tourism, Crafts, and Commerce. "We support this sector with sector-specific laws and co-marketing initiatives, and we intend to further enhance it with structural interventions, including the reestablishment of the ISOLA entity—the draft law for which was approved by the Regional Council and is now before the Regional Council—the relaunch of the ISOLA brand, and the virtual showcase of Sardinian craftsmanship."
According to the councilor, participation in Artigiano in Fiera also represents "an extraordinary promotional vehicle for Sardinian products in their most authentic and genuine aspects, because it combines the potential for promotion and marketing with the power of storytelling, the manufacturing arts and creativity, a pure expression of the traditions that define our communities."
