Ettore Del Vigo's "Sancta Sanctorum" is a place where the moods and interior states of the spirit, the dreams and nightmares of the unconscious, mediated by symbolism, take shape. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday at 6pm in the Sala Duce of the Palazzo Ducale in Sassari.

Swiss by birth (from Italian emigrant parents) but transplanted to the island in the 70s, Ettore Del Vigo is a surrealist painter who had the opportunity to meet the master of surrealism Max Ernst and the influence of the German artist is evident, but his figures emerge from the darkness with a theatrical lighting reminiscent of Caravaggio.

Del Vigo has exhibited his works throughout Europe and his solo show, which will remain open until September 30, was particularly awaited in the city that adopted him.

The exhibition is curated and set up by Carla Carta, founder with Marcello Meridda and Stefania Mele of the Sassari-based artistic collective Sabotage Art , and by Ettore Del Vigo himself. The support from some private commercial activities is invaluable.
