“In the rooms of the hikikomori”. The students of the “Fabrizio De André” art and music high school in Olbia bring their art, inspired by a touching theme, studied in depth at school, to the Aspo exhibition space in the San Simplicio parking lot.
From the collaboration project and Pcto (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation) between the high school and the cultural association Per Arte Vie, the exhibition “Nelle stanze degli hikikomori” curated by Daniele Pipitone was born : the exhibition, open from today to April 30, 24 hours a day, with free admission, collects the drawings and paintings created by the 3CD classes inspired by the phenomenon of “hikikomori”, a Japanese term that identifies a youth condition also widespread in Italy through which young people decide to isolate themselves, avoiding social contacts and often depending on technology.
Together with the teachers of Figurative Arts Caterina Urru and of Architecture and Environment Concettina Agnesi, and a volunteer psychologist, the students of the “De André” discussed the phenomenon and created sketches and drawings designed for young people, to give them a message of hope and try to help them.
The initiative, which will be presented tomorrow at noon, has received the patronage of the association Hikikomori Italia Genitori Onlus Gruppo Sardegna, which for several years has been working to raise awareness and listen to young people, parents and relatives of children with problems of social isolation.
