Archeology: the historical-touristic itinerary of the Trexenta presented in Florence
On display the preciousness of the territory
Trexenta on display at the “TourismA 2021” Archeology and Cultural Tourism Exhibition in Florence. Paola Casula, president of the Union of Municipalities of Trexenta and mayor of Guasila, the mayor of Selegas Alessio Piras, vice president of the Union, the mayor of Suelli Massimiliano Garau, the mayor of Ortacesus Maria Carmela Lecca and the Councilor of Culture of Senorbì Paola Erriu. Archaeologists Chiara Pilo and Gianfranca Salis, representatives of the Superintendency of Southern Sardinia, then presented the archaeological itinerary in the land of wheat.
The Unione Comuni has decided to entrust the management of the sites of cultural value to a single operator who can create an archaeological itinerary between the Piscu di Suelli nuraghe, the Monte Luna necropolis in Senorbì, the Su Nuraxi nuraghe in Siurgus Donigala, the Punic necropolis -romana mitza de Siddi, the nuragic palace of Barru, on the border between Guamaggiore and Guasila, and the Nuraghe Nuritzi of Selegas. Also in Guamaggiore, of interest to the visitor, is the sacred well of the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena.
In the Trexenta area there are also the domus de janas and the tombs of the giants to discover. Also beautiful to visit churches and sanctuaries. There are structures dating back to the Pisan era such as the Church of the Madonna d'Itria in Guasila, and sanctuaries of worthy interest such as San Giorgio Vescovo in Suelli, and Beata Vergine Assunta in Guasila.
In particular, the study project of the Piscu di Suelli nuraghe was born from the collaboration between the Archaeological Superintendence of Cagliari, the Cultural Heritage Sciences Institute, the Municipality, the University of Budapest , thanks to the study on DNA and bone finds that is being carried out in this study center. , aimed at demonstrating - among other things - the migrations of populations since the third millennium BC. "The nuraghe was affected by several excavation campaigns starting from 1860, to give a temporal reference: 100 years before the site of Barumini - explains the mayor of Suelli, Massimiliano Garau - It is a complex nuraghe of the fifteenth century BC, but only thanks to these last excavations the Superintendency was able to give the places agility ".
