The company's history and future took the stage, along with numbers, analyses, and considerations for competing in the new market and consumer dynamics. Experts also explained the importance of milk in nutrition. A special anniversary was celebrated in Arborea: the seventieth anniversary of the Cooperativa Latte Arborea , leader in the Sardinian dairy market and the third largest national player in UHT milk. In 2025, it recorded a turnover of 267 million euros, up 9% from 2024 (+22.5 million), and produced 191 million liters of cow's milk.

The performances were proudly presented to a large audience: cooperative members, employees, numerous entrepreneurs, local administrators, and politicians, including the regional councilor for Agriculture, Francesco Agus. The Horse Country conference room offered a glimpse into the cooperative's past, with all the presidents who have served over the years (complete with a commemorative photo and a tribute for each), future plans, and challenges.

" We continue to invest because celebrating 70 years of history means taking responsibility for the future ," explained Remigio Sequi, president and CEO of the Latte Arborea Cooperative, which employs 371 members and 3,500 members throughout the supply chain. "For us, growth means creating value for the local area, its people, and its supply chains . However, it is essential to rethink our incentive policies to ensure equal access to investment funding."

Sequi wasn't afraid to appeal to the island politicians in the room when it came time to discuss the high cost of transportation and island status: "Unfortunately, we didn't choose to be on an island; the costs we incur prevent us from being competitive. I ask regional politicians to assert themselves; we can't have a noose around our necks." And then there are the numbers: "The increases in transportation and fuel costs, in our case amounting to €2.6 million per year," Sequi reiterated, "further exacerbate the island situation."

There is also another request to the institutions: "We are not asking for more incentives, but for fairness in public policies and a rebalancing between productive sectors, because measures such as hyper-depreciation or the most recent developments in tax credits are effective for fully taxable businesses. Therefore, we need tools that take into account the different fiscal and organizational characteristics of agricultural businesses to ensure effective access to aid, including cooperative supply chains; limiting investment capacity means reducing the competitiveness of the entire system that connects agricultural production, industrial processing, and employment."

The latest investments were also highlighted: €48 million over the past two years for technological innovation, strengthening production capacity, and streamlining the organization. "Despite a complex environment, we have decided to maintain a milk price of around 60 cents per liter, including VAT, starting in 2026," Sequi concluded. "We intend to preserve the value built over the years and transform it for the future, continuing to invest, innovate, and enhance our members' quality products in line with the needs of new families and consumers."
