The scent of Sardinian tradition is preparing to invade one of the island's most iconic locations. On Saturday, July 11, the Scogli Rossi square in Arbatax will host the first edition of the Sagra del Porceddu, a major food and wine event organized by the Simba Natural Shopping Center with the patronage of the Municipality of Tortolì and the Region of Sardinia. This event aims to become a regular fixture of the Ogliastra summer, showcasing one of the most iconic dishes of Sardinian cuisine in a unique setting overlooking the sea.

EVENT NUMBERS - Twenty quintals of suckling pig from a certified and controlled supply chain, prepared by 25 professional master roasters, among the most experienced in the area, who will create a huge open-air brazier overlooking the sea with over 240 skewers cooking. The area opens at 5:00 PM. From that moment, the public will be able to wander among the exhibitors' and hobbyists' stands, offering traditional Sardinian crafts and products, watch the roast suckling pig being prepared, and enjoy the atmosphere of the event. Food distribution will begin at 6:00 PM.

THE TRADITIONAL MENU – The festival menu will feature a portion of porceddu (pork suckling pig) accompanied by offal, goat cheese, pistoccu (a traditional Sardinian dish), water, and Cannonau wine, for a gastronomic experience celebrating the region's finest products. The Stella Maris Committee will provide a sweet end to the event, offering traditional fried seadas (fried sweets). This famous dessert will not be included in the festival's main course but can be purchased separately for those wishing to indulge in the authentic flavors of Sardinia.

MORE THAN FOOD - Making the evening even more special will be a rich entertainment program. Live bands, bands, and DJs will perform on stage, while at over seventy tables, the audience will enjoy performances by folk groups, traveling shows, street artists, jugglers, and fire-eaters. The Best 90s Show will also be on stage, featuring dancers, themed merchandise, iconic characters, and special effects. But the show doesn't end there, as there will also be an unforgettable surprise fireworks display.

FUN FOR THE LITTLE ONES – A truly fun event for all ages. There will be plenty of time for boys and girls, with games and entertainment curated by the Mura Brothers, a historic family of Arbatax fairground workers who have been bringing fun and laughter to Sardinia's squares for three generations.

STATEMENT - "Visitors who choose our region are increasingly seeking authentic experiences, capable of describing Sardinia through its traditions and cuisine," explains CCN Simba President Francesco Iesu. "The Scogli Rossi are an extraordinary location, now a symbol of Ogliastra, and allow us to best welcome thousands of people in a unique setting."

PARTNERS - The initiative's partners also include Aperol Spritz and Birra Ichnusa, who will be hosting the evening with dedicated spaces and promotional activities. The event is supported by the Pro Loco Rocce Rosse.

With the sea as a backdrop, the warmth of the Ogliastra summer, and one of the island's most beloved traditional dishes, the first Porceddu Festival promises to become one of the season's most anticipated events.
