Serie A's sporting judge has handed down a two-match suspension to Antonio Conte, the Napoli coach who was sent off in Sunday evening's match against Inter after Calhanoglu scored a penalty awarded to Inter with the score at 1-1.
Conte was penalized "for having, in the 26th minute of the second half, made an insulting statement towards the match officials; subsequently, after being notified of his expulsion, he blatantly kicked the ball away, approached the fourth official in an intimidating manner, protesting loudly and repeating insulting and offensive remarks," the Lega statement reads. Only after the intervention of his officials did he leave the playing area; this infraction was reported by the fourth official. Furthermore, in the tunnel leading to the changing rooms, he repeated this behavior by making insulting remarks towards the match officials; this infraction was detected by the collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor's Office.
