The Antiquarium Turritano museum in Porto Torres records important numbers on the presence of visitors who, in the year 2022 reached 7680, after two years of a pandemic which forced the managers of the Sardinia Regional Museum Directorate to adopt anti-Covid measures.
Encouraging data compared to 2021 with only 2689 visitors, results determined by Sunday closures. The numerous cultural events organized inside the museum and in the archaeological area of Turris Libisonis, the theatrical performances and the new cycle of conferences with the participation of important directors of national museums, archaeologists and illustrious guests they recounted the latest discoveries in the area of the city of Porto Torres, from the Domus dei Mosaici Marini to the excavations of via Ponte Romano.
The important agreement between the Regional Directorate of Museums of Sardinia, led by Luana Toniolo, and the Municipality of Turrito for the management of the archaeological site called "Archaeological Area of Palazzo di Re Barbaro and the Roman Colony of Turris Libisonis", will allow to start joint activities of promotion and enhancement of the archaeological area. Among other things, the agreement includes the planning of cultural activities of common interest, also with the help of private initiatives, the promotion of research, conservation, enhancement and fruition projects with particular regard to the improvement of services aimed at users , continuation of the planned maintenance project of the archaeological assets.
