Chiara Colosimo is the new president of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission.

The deputy of the Brothers of Italy was elected with 29 votes, those of the majority (with only one absence). The opposition instead chose to leave the chamber in protest.

The controversy around Colosimo was triggered by an episode of the Report broadcast which indicated her as "close" to Luigi Ciavardini , the former black extremist of the Nar, sentenced to 30 years for the Bologna massacre, to 13 for the murder of the policeman Francesco Evangelista and 10 for that of the judge Mario Amato.

Even the families of the victims of the Mafia had risen up against Colosimo's indications and had launched an appeal to the political forces not to vote for it.

Still on the nomination front, the Council of Ministers formalized the appointment of Andrea De Gennaro as commander of the Guardia di Finanza , on the basis of the political agreement already reached and announced after the last meeting on 11 May.
