The freestyle fight continues to give Sardinia satisfactions and medals.

At the Italian U20 Championships, held on Saturday 7 at the PalaPellicone in Ostia, the brothers Simone and Denise Piroddu distinguished themselves. The first, who grew up in Athlon Sassari and now standard bearer of the Army, was already the absolute Italian champion in the 57kg and has now won gold in the same category after having won four fights for manifest superiority. Her sister Denise, Italian U17 champion, won silver in the 59 kg after winning three fights and losing the final against Ilaria Salvaterra from Turin. Athlon also brought home the 5th place of Emanuele Masia in the 92 kg, while in the 97 kg Davide Cossu of the Shardana Silanus shone, who despite competing in an underweight category and conditioned by the worsening of shoulder pain, he put on the neck the silver medal surrendering only in the final to Aldo De Vita from Turin. Out in the first round, however, Simone Pireddu, Diego Pes, Fabrizio Arca and Fabio Onida. However, in 2022 the path of the Shardana is proving to be more than positive: there are already six medals won (3 silvers and 3 bronzes), for a total of 59 points that propel it to first place in Sardinia.

Satisfaction also for Gigliotti Nuoro, who with the rookie Paolo Piredda won a good 4th place in the 125 kg. The Nuorese team also took part in the Italian Veteran Championships, held on May 6, and obtained a bronze in the 78 kg with Giacomo Sanna and a fifth place in the 70 kg with Giovanni to Andrea Gigliotti.

Judo . For Polisportiva Gigliotti the last few weekends have also been particularly positive in judo. Last April 30th, at the 1st National Grand Prix of Judo Master Italy, held in Brianza, the Nuorese won four medals and the qualification for the European Championships which will be held in June in Greece. Edoardo Gigliotti won gold in 100 kg, Giovanni Gigliotti bronze in 73 kg, Fabrizio Mori and Marco Gigliotti both bronze in 90 kg.

"A great satisfaction, the prestigious results made possible also thanks to the availability of the Commander of the Traffic Police of Sassari, who made the Command gym available for training", underlined Marco Gigliotti enthusiastically.
