“Anna”, at the cinema a Sardinian story of rebellion and freedom

“Anna” (Fandango Distribuzione), the film by Marco Amenta which has collected many awards, such as the “Fedic” at the latest Venice Film Festival, will arrive in all theaters on Thursday 13 June. The film has already been screening for a few days at the "Notorious", in Piazza L'Unione Sarda in Cagliari, which is part of "Cinema in Festa", with all films throughout Italy at 3.50 euros.
Sardinia on the set – The protagonist of the film is Anna, «beautiful, wild and magnetic like the uncontaminated nature of her Sardinia» , we read in the note accompanying the work. Thirty years old, «Anna lives to the rhythm of the breathing of the earth, a land that heals her wounds and nourishes her soul. The difficult experiences she has gone through have marked her, but not broken her and today Anna is a free woman who no longer wants to be afraid. In the remote corner of the island where she manages the small farm that belonged to her father, time seems to have stopped and the presence of the girl with her erotic energy and her courageous rejection of conventions", we read again, "has the power to a mine ready to explode. That harsh land protects her, until the day she has to protect it from the mechanical monsters who want to rape her. Saving beauty and preserving her freedom come together in Anna's battle, forcing difficult choices and painful sacrifices on her. Because nothing can buy respect for oneself and one's beliefs."
A true story – “Anna” is inspired by a true story that happened in Sardinia, «a story of resistance against power», we read in a note from the director. Marco Amenta created “Anna” in 2023, written with Niccolò Stazzi, Anna Mittone and Tania Petroni .
