The minstrel of Italian music, the singer-songwriter who masterfully blended medieval, Renaissance, and folk music. The composer of hits such as "Alla fiera dell'Est," "La pulce d'acqua," and "Cogli la prima mela," to name a few. Angelo Branduardi will be touring the island with "Il Cantico," celebrating the 800th anniversary of the writing of the Canticle of the Creatures. There will be two dates: November 11th at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari, organized by the Forma e Poesia nel Jazz cooperative, and November 12th at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari for the Frequenze festival, promoted by ARC Suoni Diversi with Shining Production and Roble Factory.

The tour is inspired by the sunny and lively figure of the "Poverello of Assisi," as Branduardi himself recounts: " The life of Saint Francis of Assisi is that of a man who becomes a Saint... a man (and therefore a Saint) who chooses the joy of living, recommends it to his disciples, loves poverty 'never separated from joy'... Francis is today more than ever a Saint, but he is also a great poet; he loved to sing and did so often, even alone... I have tried to give voice to his words so that they can be sung again."

For the occasion, Branduardi will return to the stage with the full band, in fact Fabio Valdemarin will be on keyboards, Nicola Oliva on guitars, Stefano Olivato on bass and Davide Ragazzoni on drums.
