"Lucky charm? Well, not in particular. I'm a bit superstitious like everyone else... Actually... yes, in fact I wore a green tie the day of the Paolini final. New, green is my lucky color. I won, I put it back on the next day, and I lost. It works less than I hoped."

So said Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, just returned to his hometown Cagliari from the Internationals in Rome, in an interview for the Videolina news program with director Emanuele Dessì.

"The secret of success? It takes luck. We have found first a generation of extraordinary champions, now champions, champions and champions together. The secret is that we are stubborn Sardinians, or rather we are stubborn like the Sardinians, and so we have carried forward a project for twenty years, of total revolution, efficiency of the Federation. They tried to kill us all, we resisted, we were consistent, collecting results much superior to those we have always dreamed of".

"I believe that rather than doing more important things, in life you have to be able to do the things you love, that you like to do, in the best possible way. I like being the president of the Tennis Federation and rather than going to do things that are perhaps more important, I would like to achieve more important things for tennis."
