Andrea Pintus may have died after attempting to disarm his brother Alessandro, who was completely out of control at the time after – less than half an hour earlier, at 5.40am last Thursday – he had fired a gunshot at Solanas' wife Michela Rubiu , hitting her in the head and leaving her near death (she remains in serious but stable condition), apparently at the height of yet another argument in an increasingly stormy and troubled relationship.
Still in the throes of a blind rage, the 39-year-old bricklayer – in prison for murder and attempted murder – arrived by car at Margine Rosso, on the Quartu coast, perhaps thinking of finding refuge in the family home on Via Asfodelo.
Here, however, in addition to his elderly parents, there was also his older brother Andrea, 42, who, after receiving his confession, courageously confronted him in the courtyard, receiving in response three 7.65 caliber shots fired almost at point-blank range that killed him instantly.
This is the possible reconstruction of the bloody dawn that unfolded on that cursed July 23rd, as leaked by sources close to the families of the victims of this immense tragedy.
