Following the controversy surrounding the announcement of his co-hosting the third evening, Andrea Pucci is withdrawing from Sanremo.

"The insults, threats, epithets, and so on that I and my family have received in recent days are incomprehensible and unacceptable!" he says, describing a "negative media wave" that alters "the fundamental pact" with the public. Hence his decision to step back, thanking Carlo Conti and RAI. "By 2026, the term fascist should no longer exist," he states. "Homophobia and racism are terms that highlight hatred of the human race, and I have never hated anyone."
"My job," Andrea Pucci emphasizes, "has been making people laugh, for 35 years, but I could say forever!!! And I have always brought the customs and traditions of my country to the stage, poking fun at the character traits of men and women. Through my work, I have achieved goals and objectives with the intention of bringing smiles and lightheartedness to those who have always come to see my shows. The insults, threats, epithets, and so on that I and my family have received in recent days are incomprehensible and unacceptable! This negative media wave that has engulfed me on the occasion of my announced participation in Sanremo, such an important event that is at the heart of the country, alters the fundamental pact between me and the audience, which is why I have decided to step back as the conditions for practicing my profession have disappeared."

"At 61," Pucci continues, "after what happened to me physically, I don't feel the need to engage in an intellectually unequal battle that isn't mine. I must and want to thank Carlo Conti, RAI, and everyone who believed in, conceived, and proposed this opportunity, which would have been a wonderful celebration for me. In 2026," the actor continues, responding to the accusations leveled at him in recent days, "the term 'fascist' should no longer exist. Right-wingers and left-wingers who think differently but who engage in a democratic system that fortunately governs our beloved country exist! Homophobia and racism are terms that highlight hatred of the human race, and I have never hated anyone. So I send all my best wishes to Carlo Conti," he concludes, "wishing him a successful edition, and I look forward to seeing you at the theater."
