When there is the power of history, no special directorial inventions are needed. And so the traditional staging of Puccini's "Tosca" by Renato Bonajuto is made specifically to highlight voices and music, and is appreciated by the audience that crowded the Comunale di Sassari for the first of the autumn season organized by the de Carolis entity.

The great protagonist is the soprano Marta Mari, a rounded timbre both in the high notes and in the low and medium ones, without ever losing power. At the end of the show it is almost an ovation for her. The character of Baron Scarpia, who threatens Tosca taking advantage of the role of policeman, makes the drama dark: the baritone from Oristano Marco Caria is a “murky carrion” not only in his vocal interpretation but also in his acting. In the role of the painter Cavaradossi, the Georgian tenor Otar Jorjikia, with flashes that provoke the applause of the audience.

Conductor Gianluca Martinenghi conducted the now mature de Carolis orchestra. Applause also for the de Carolis Choir conducted by Francesca Tosi and for the Children's Choir conducted by Salvatore Rizzu.
