Cinema lands in space. From the Baikonur base in Kazakhstan, the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft has brought three new Russian astronauts to the International Space Station. Or, rather, an astronaut - Anton Shkaplerov, who will remain in orbit until March - together with actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko, who will remain in orbit for 12 days to shoot some scenes of a film, the first in history to contain “extraterrestrial” footage.

The film will be titled "Challenge" and will tell about a medical emergency during a space flight.

Russia thus scores a point in its eternal "space" rivalry with the United States. Peresild and Shipenko have in fact beat the time for the projects of films shot in space that are boiling in the pot in Hollywood, in particular a similar project that, according to rumors, Tom Cruise is working on.

"We are ready, even if we are obviously nervous. And for this we support each other all the time - wrote the actress Peresild on Instagram, before leaving - It is always difficult and scary to be a pioneer, but it is very interesting".
