The event ended with the performance of the choir of the “Foiso Fois” Music High School directed by Daniela BianchiThe exhibition “Da solo non basto. In viaggio con i ragazzi di Kayròs, Portofranco e Piazza dei Mestieri” (Alone I'm Not Enough) was inaugurated today at the Mediateca del Mediterraneo, promoted by the Diocese of Cagliari, through the operational arm of Caritas and the Portofranco association.
Marinella Salaris moderated the presentation of the project in the presence of the Archbishop and Secretary General of the CEI Monsignor Giuseppe Baturi, the director of Caritas Don Marco Lai, the president of the Association Paolo Sanna and the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Cagliari Maria Francesca Chiappe.
This is an artistic and narrative exhibition, aimed particularly at young people and educators, as it explores the challenges of youth growth through stories of resilience and rebirth, open until April 29.
From May 2 to 9, the exhibition will move to the Aula Magna of the Archbishop's Seminary in Via Mons. Cogoni, also in Cagliari.
"We happily support this initiative and in general all those who work to stem the distressing and worrying phenomenon related to youth distress - declared Archbishop Baturi - In the Diocese, where the Coordination of Catholic and Christian-inspired schools was recently established, in recent years particular attention has been paid to the educational issue. Often young people do not communicate with adults and remain closed within their own borders. The situation is serious and we must pay close attention to the issue. The phenomenon manifests itself in a society incapable of transmitting reasons for life and hope, generating fragility and cracks in the social fabric. To face this challenge, last year the Diocese promoted meetings with schools, involving all the components: teachers, managers, parents and students. From these meetings - explained Monsignor Baturi - the need for mutual help and a real alliance emerged".
The day ended with a touching and intense performance by the choir of the “Foiso Fois” Music High School of Cagliari, masterfully directed by the teacher Daniela Bianchi, soprano, a highly appreciated teacher throughout the island and founder of the Fannie Academy.
A group of over 40 young people from all classes of the Institute who interpreted an exciting repertoire and performed with extraordinary attention to detail and poignant interpretation by the young talents of the Institute led by the school principal Nicoletta Rossi.
