The guest of the column, conducted by the journalist Fabrizio Meloni, Head of Communication and External Relations of the Aou, will be Professor Stefano Del Giacco, allergist and immunologist at the Duilio Casula Polyclinic.
Allergies are diseases that are constantly spreading, 25 percent of Italians are affected, one in four citizens. Caused by an overreaction of the immune system, allergies are part of the epidemiology of modern societies. The data concerning respiratory allergies, which affect about 18-20% of Italians, is of relevance. In Sardinia, the most common allergens that cause respiratory problems are pollens released by grasses, parietaria, composites and olive trees.
