Aligi Sassu's graphic work on display in Cagliari

The graphic work of Aligi Sassu is at the center of an exhibition that will be set up in Cagliari from September 25th . The space of art, culture and comparison managed by the association "Il Cornetto acustica", in the historic district of Villanova, hosts "El gran Espejo", an exhibition dedicated to the illustrious Milanese painter, sculptor, engraver of Sardinian origins .
The exhibition focuses on his fervent activity as an engraver and lithographer, from which emerges a visionary gaze, his powerful dynamism and his taste for colour.
The exhibition itinerary winds through a selection of lithographs inspired by the Divine Comedy , the famous linocuts, etchings and aquatints of mythological subjects, all created between 1972 and 1991. « Works - explains Antonello Dessì, artistic director of the exhibition - that highlight the artist's ability to reinterpret classical myths , through bright colors and the dynamism of the figures, to explore universal themes such as heroism, rebellion, sacrifice, and that highlight, through his visionary style, signs, symbols and values of contemporaneity».
Simona Campus, art critic and professor of Art History, will inaugurate the exhibition that can be visited until October 13. The exhibition will be enriched by the Dante Readings curated by Domenico Fadda , a scholar of the great poet and a PhD student in Italian Philology and Literature. The appointment is October 10 at 7:30 pm.
On the occasion of the closing, on the 13th at 10, space for music with the duo, piano and saxophone, Silvia Belfiore & Andrea Morelli for a journey "From Cage to Morricone passing through Africa".
