Sardinia's triathlon party is complete. At the Forte Village in Santa Margherita di Pula, in the first historic edition of the Ironman 70.3 Sardinia, Alice Capone triumphs in the women's race with a fantastic comeback in the final half marathon. The thirty-one year old from Sassari with a time of 4.46'04 ”precedes Sara Sandrini from Brescia by three and a half minutes while her brother Filippo is a good eighth in the men's race.

In this case, Nicola Luchi, a 22-year-old former cyclist from Riva del Garda, trained by Alessandro De Gasperi, winner of the first edition of the Forte Village Triathlon in 2013, wins in 4.11'07 ”. Behind him the Frenchman Nicolas Martin and the British Daniel Bluff. First among the M44s was Roberto Melis from Selargino, 38th overall.

The rain that began to fall after the arrival of the best did not ruin the historic day for the Sardinian triathlon. About 1300 starters (out of about 2000 confirmed members), the highest number ever for a triathlon competition in Sardinia. They tackled a 1900 meters swimming course, just under 90 km by bike and 21 km running, to cross the finish line in the Forte Arena.
