The reconstruction of Alierasaurus Ronchii, a caseidae belonging to the class of synapsids, is on display for the first time in Alghero, an extinct animal that populated north-western Sardinia even before the dinosaurs. The remains were found in 2008 and are currently kept at the Sapienza University of Rome.

"An exceptional find - explains Maurizio Papa, president of the Paleo-Expo association - because the remains of the specimen were the first found in the territory of Alghero in the Porto Conte Park area and the largest found so far in the world". Two robotic Caseids, one 4 meters long and the other 5, rigorously reconstructed on the basis of scientific findings, constitute the highlight of one of the scenarios of the AlgueRex exhibition which will remain open throughout the month of May in the former Fruit and Vegetable Market of Alghero. «The exhibition is made up of various immersive settings where the public, guided by educational panels that illustrate the salient aspects of the individual eras and some of the forms of life present - continues Papa - will be able to relive in the individual settings, a non-imaginative reconstruction, the most accurate as possible, of the related contexts with the presence of large animated models of some of the extinct animals, including some dinosaurs».

The exhibition, organized by the cultural association Paleo - Expo, sponsored by the Municipality of Alghero, will be open every day including holidays from 10.30 to 20 at the former market in Largo San Francesco.
