The World Triathlon Championship Series is ready to land in Alghero for the Italian date of the world series that will see the best international triathletes compete on Saturday 31 May. The upcoming one will be the fourth WTCS in Italy, and for the first time Alghero will host the prestigious event, until now always held in Sardinia, but in the city of Cagliari.

The event is organized by the Italian Triathlon Federation with the collaboration of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Sport and Youth, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Municipality of Alghero and the Alghero Foundation. The elite of international triathlon will participate in the World Triathlon Championship Alghero, ready to challenge themselves over the Olympic distance, which includes 1,500 m swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running. All the details of the event will be illustrated in the press conference on Thursday 29 May at Porta Terra, at 12. by the mayor of Alghero Raimondo Cacciotto, by the president of the Alghero Foundation Graziano Porcu, by the president of the Italian Triathlon Federation Riccardo Giubilei.
