The fifth day of sailing tomorrow, Thursday, July 10, for Cinema delle Terre del Mare, the festival that brings the best of independent productions to the Coral Riviera of Alghero, organized by the Società Umanitaria di Alghero with the artistic direction of Alessandra Sento.

The screening starts at 6 pm at Lo Quarter, where Portuali by Perla Sardella (Italy, 2024, 81'), winner of the Gli Imperdibili Award at the 2024 Festival dei Popoli in Florence, will be screened.

The Autonomous Port Workers' Collective of the Port of Genoa has decided that ships carrying weapons and explosives used in war zones are no longer welcome on their city's docks. They want no part in this, not even indirectly. Struggling with the authorities and the union, they met in an assembly during the pandemic, discussing precarious working conditions and subservience to the powers that be. Their collective struggle is intertwined with the union's agenda and the private lives of individuals, whose professional demands are increasingly being ignored.

The film is included in the Immersioni section of the festival, dedicated to the candidates for the first edition of the Cinema delle Terre del Mare Audience Award.

At 10 pm, the evening continues at the Rosanna establishment on nearby Maria Pia Beach, where the Archipelagos section will screen La cocina (Lobsters in Manhattan) by Mexican director Alonso Ruizpalacios (USA, 2024, 139 min.), which competed at last year's Berlin Film Festival. The festival is part of the CineFestival Sardegna Network and is supported by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Municipality of Alghero, the Alghero Foundation, the Sardinia Foundation, and the Sassari Chamber of Commerce-Progetto Salude & Trigu.
