"We are very pleased to be preparing to host the Paralympic Open Water Swimming World Cup on June 21, 2025." The announcement was made by the mayor of Alghero, Raimondo Cacciotto. On his social media page, the mayor announced that the city will host the sporting event organized in collaboration with the Albatross company, the Italian Paralympic Swimming Federation, the World Para Swimming Federation, the Municipality of Alghero and the Alghero Foundation.

"With the aim of bringing to the attention of the public opinion issues of interest in sports and tourism, with a special focus on accessible tourism and inclusiveness", adds Cacciotto. In addition to the sports competition, several collateral events for in-depth study will also be planned.
