The usual festive atmosphere at the Sella & Mosca estate in Alghero for the presentation of the three teams (Dinamo, Dinamo Women, and Dinamo Lab) gave way to emotion when a video was shared with a letter written by Achille Polonara and some of the player's performances from his 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons in Sassari.

The national team winger has reached an agreement with the Sassari club for his return as a player, as soon as his physical condition, tested by the chemotherapy Polonara underwent to treat his leukemia, allows it. "Dear Dinamo, I'm writing to you so I can distract myself a bit," is the title of the letter Achille Polonara wrote so he could "be there" for the launch of what, after six years, will still be his team.

It's been six years since we parted. I made a promise: to come home. And here I am. Time has flown by in six years, but you've remained the same. A flag, a force capable of uniting an entire people. As our motto says: we are more than a game. Because there's more to basketball here: there's identity, pride, and a Sardinia that recognizes itself in its Giants. Ten years later, you still fill an entire square to remember the Treble: an achievement that warmed the hearts of a people, and at the same time broke mine. Fifteen years later, you're still here, representing Sardinia in Serie A, defending the Quattro Mori with the same passion as always. And you've never stopped: projects, smiles, community, solidarity.

Achille Polonara reveals how much benefit he received from the club's president Stefano Sardara: "Dinamo looks forward, looks to the children, to the future, with the same pride with which it faces every challenge. Because we know it well: the road isn't always easy. There are moments when everything seems dark. But that's precisely where you find the strength to never give up, to get up again, to still believe. And you, in the most difficult moments, believed in me. For this, I will always be grateful. Dear Dinamo, see you again soon. In our home: the House of Giants. Achille."
