The official press note also arrives after the meeting on Monday evening which put the seal on the choice of Cacciotto, former regional councilor and deputy mayor of Alghero at the time of Mario Bruno.

«The alliance is based on sharing an idea of Alghero and of the future that starts from programs and ambitions that the coalition parties cultivate within a common ground of values and ideals. Starting from this assumption", we read in the statement, "the forces of the broad camp do not close their doors to anyone and are committed to including within the perimeter of the coalition other forces which, putting aside old logics of belonging and animated by a renewed civic sense, want to contribute to the beginning of a new political season , capable of overcoming old conflicts and leaving to the right the logic of power as an end in itself and of managing consensus for pure personal gain. Alghero needs to put the past behind it, it needs a climate of trust and renewed hope, for the construction of a more equitable and sustainable society, which values rights, not privileges, and strengthens the sense of community."

In the opinion of the exponents of the broad camp, therefore, Raimondo Cacciotto is the right person «to interpret the ongoing project, with the clear intention of encouraging a change in the Alghero ruling class, not only generationally, but above all in the method and purposes for which it contributes to the political and administrative life of the city and its community".
