Important recognition for Fitur, the Madrid International Tourism Fair, a world-wide reference event in the tourism sector.

Alghero awarded as a creative destination for the " PlaçAlguer - taste and tradition " project as part of the 11th edition of the "Creative Tourism Awards". The PlaçAlguer format, proposed last October, highlighted the culinary identity to enhance the cultural elements of the cuisine and create a real experience for visitors.

In this sense , the contribution of the cultural association Saber i Sabor, which has been engaged for years in the conservation and valorisation of the cultural heritage represented by traditional gastronomy, which selected eighteen typical Alghero dishes, was important .

Giovanni Fancello, journalist, writer and gastronome, has reconstructed the history of all eighteen dishes, recounting their historical-cultural roots. Starting from this important research, two days were created dedicated to "lessons with chefs", experiential workshops created by the teachers of the Hotel Institute together with the starred chef Christiano Andreini.
