Alexander Zverev won the Italian Internationals by defeating the big surprise of the tournament, the Chilean Nicolas Jarry, in the final.
The German won in two sets with a score of 6-4, 7-5 in an hour and 43 minutes of play.
A result resulting from absolute domination of his service rounds, in which Zverev lost only 5 points out of 49 in the entire match. In response, however, he was often able to worry the Chilean bomber, placing two breaks that proved decisive, in the tenth game of the first set and in the twelfth of the second.
With this victory, Zverev surpasses Medvedev and places himself in fourth place in the ATP ranking. A significant overtaking on the eve of Roland Garros, given that the German is certain that he will not be able to cross paths with Djokovic, Sinner (whose presence is still in doubt but should be there) and Alcaraz before the semi-finals.
