Alessio and the "Sollas", rock to start living again
The concert in Cagliari: the story of the drummer who was "born twice"
"Music is my life. It always helps me. Every day I feel his vital breath ". Alessio Solla, who turns 40 on November 7, has been in love with drums since he was a child, and performs on Saturday 9 July with the Sollas al Poetto, at the Corto Maltese, starting at 9.30pm. A live with a particular flavor. An initiative that is repeated after last year's successful concert.
Alessio was born twice. The second after a terrible car accident : awakening from a coma and life that gradually resumes with the help of family, friends and new, providential travel companions. The specialists, who accompany him on the path of recovery, have become the Sollas, the band of the boy who savors the pleasure of playing the drums. Psychologists Barbara Cossa and Roberta Portas, who help him in the cognitive-behavioral and sensory-motor rehabilitation activities, now passionate about rocking, respectively embrace the electric bass and the guitar. Davide de Giorgi, the educator who shows him the way every day, is the voice of the group.
In pure rock lineup : Like a Stone (Audioslave), Message in a Bottle (Police) and In Bloom (Nirvana). “The best music possible. We are ready to go on stage at the Corto Maltese ”, explains Alessio, very excited, with his sticks ready to bounce off cymbals and drums during the last rehearsal session in the small rented room on the outskirts of Monserrato. Smiles and good humor are a constant. During the evening at the Corto Maltese the band's t-shirts with the drummer's phrases will be sold ("Making mistakes you learn, but making mistakes also make figures of m." ). “Given the success of last year and in the light of Alessio's improvements - explains Barbara Cossa - we decided to make the event an annual appointment to give him the opportunity to test himself with other groups and not just with the Sollas. We want to help him return to the world of music which was his favorite action space before the accident. The project aims to foster recovery in the broadest sense of the term, including socialization. This story shows that there is always another possibility, even when everything seems to say the opposite ”. A path with many stages, not easy, faced with the rhythm of rock that ensures Alessio optimism and confidence in the future.
