The life of an actor on the small and big screen can even begin after the age of 50. This is demonstrated by the career of Alessandro Gazale, from Sassari, born in 1961, teacher of Exercise and Sports Sciences in Middle School number 5, who also did theater, but without thinking that his career would have had a sudden turning point.

Alessandro Gazale was chosen for a role in the new Sky Original series “Il Re”, alongside Luca Zingaretti of the same age, who plays Bruno Testori, director of San Michele, a border prison. The Sassari actor is one of Testori-Zingaretti's trusted men, protagonist of the 8-episode series on air since March, which also sees Isabella Ragonese (agent of the penitentiary), Anna Bonaiuto (the prosecutor who investigates Testori), Barbora Bobulova (Testori's ex wife) and Giorgio Colangeli (Iaccarino, the prison commander and trusted friend of Testori).

The director is Giuseppe Gagliardi (1992 and the two sequels). The series is written by Stefano Bises, Peppe Fiore, Bernando Pellegrini and Davide Serino.

For Gazale an absolute debut in a TV series, while at the cinema it was launched by another Sassari, director Bonifacio Angius, first in a supporting role in the film "Perfidia" (2014) and then as the protagonist in "Everywhere protect me" that allowed to win the Vittorio Gassman Award at the Bari International Film Festival in 2019.
