The Asinara National Park, an extraordinary open-air museum which, with its natural landscapes, crystal clear sea, rare animals and its ancient history, will be the protagonist of a special episode of “Ulysses - the pleasure of discovery”.

The crew of the Rai program conducted by the scientific popularizer Alberto Angela, yesterday disembarked at Asinara to film the wonderful views aboard an off-road vehicle, the means used to cross the entire island, from Cala Reale to Fornelli, with stops at the red house of Cala d'Oliva, the guesthouse where the judges Falcone and Borsellino wrote the preliminary investigation of the maxi trial of Palermo against the mafia.

On the first day, the cameras of the television host of the well-known documentary program focused their attention on natural beauties, flora and fauna, not only on albino donkeys with white coat and blue eyes, but also on mouflons and wild boars. Some shots on the ground, south of the island, were concentrated in Fornelli where the horses graze free and wild in the various paths, glimpses of a park that shows its rare beauty. Images also in Stretti, the most deserted area, between the hills and the sparse vegetation, in the midst of the fragmented ruins and the sea that can be seen clear even in the distance.

Alberto Angela made a stop in the various prison branches where also detainees at 41bis were locked up. An intense historical testimony that has kept intact its incredible charm and mystery.
