“The five most useless minutes of my artistic life”.

Al Bano comments on the bad experience he lived on the stage of the Verona Arena, during an evening event dedicated to Franco Battiato with dozens of artists.

The presence of the singer from Cellino San Marco was not expected, as he himself tells Corriere della Sera: “Sgarbi and I were in Abano, there was a manifestation of the character of the year and they rewarded me. At the end of the evening Sgarbi tells me: 'Let's go to the Arena di Verona which is also my sister. We arrive, and the artistic director Gianmarco Mazzi takes us behind the scenes. I didn't know anything. Vittorio tells me 'Come on, let's get on stage' ".

But at that point things take an unexpected turn: “We enter and people shout 'Fascists, fascists'. I found myself in a Dante's circle. I was wondering 'dream or am I awake?'. At that point I apologized and left. ' I don't even know why they called me a fascist, I've always been anti-political ”.

An episode, however, that he wants to leave immediately behind. At least today, who has other things to think about: a few hours ago in Zagreb his granddaughter, Rio Ines, third daughter of Cristel Carrisi, was born.
