Three Italian destinations - and two are Sardinian - in the top ten of the most trending summer destinations globally for searches in the first quarter of 2022. This was announced by Airbnb on the occasion of the release of the new application.

The two Sardinian destinations are Villasimius and San Teodoro , the third Italian destination is San Vito Lo Capo in Sicily.

More than 50% of Italians' bookings in the first quarter of this year concern national destinations; demand for foreign countries is also growing, up compared to the same period last year.

And the desire for the sea prevails , three quarters of the nights booked in Italy concern destinations within 5 kilometers from the beaches. Long-term stays hit all-time highs in the first quarter of 2022, and now account for 20% of bookings.
