A new strike announced by Uiltrasporti in the air sector.

The employees of EasyJet, Volotea and Ryanair will cross their arms on Sunday 17 July: the abstention from work will last 4 hours, from 14 to 18.

"Despite the reduction of strike hours from 24 to 4 imposed by the Strike Guarantee Commission, pilots and flight attendants of these companies will continue, in compliance with the rules, this new protest action given the persistence of the unacceptable conditions in which they are forced to work - explains the union in a note -. In particular, as regards EasyJet, the fighting action continues to protest against the compression of workers' rights which culminated in unjustified dismissals, against the lack of operational solidity and the total deterioration of industrial relations, to the detriment of passengers and crews, in one season. already very complicated for air transport that tries to recover ”.

For what concerns Volotea, "the protest continues against the corporate attitude that infringes the rights of workers for the failure to adjust the minimum wages according to article 203 of the competition decree and for the numerous unilateral actions with a further lowering of wages justified by agreements individual and pseudo-volunteers. Added to this is a total inadequacy of very intense work shifts ".

Uiltrasporti also underlines that in recent days it has asked the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility "the activation of an air transport crisis table involving low cost companies, to urgently manage problems related to wages and working conditions , with the application of article 203 of the Relaunch Decree. We hope to receive positive signs of openness to our requests as soon as possible, otherwise we will be forced to continue our protest action throughout the summer ”.
