The former Air Italy workers did not give up on collective redundancies and this morning they returned to Rome for a new protest garrison in via Molise, in front of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Organized by the autonomous trade unions Ap, Cobas, Usp and Anpav, the event aims to keep the attention high on the dispute of the 1,322 former employees of the airline for whom, without government intervention, there is no future.

After the dispatch of the dismissal letters by the former Meridiana company, the unions have repeatedly asked for a government table to be convened with the company and the Regions of Sardinia and Lombardy. From many sides, the institutional representatives have expressed their willingness to find solutions, but since January 2, when the collective dismissal and the end of the layoffs have materialized, nothing has changed so far.

The workers ask not to be forgotten and that the support measures already adopted for former Alitalia employees be applied to them, with the extension of the redundancy fund and the establishment of a complex crisis area that includes the entire air transport system of the Village.
