Air Italy workers again in the streets of Cagliari, when there is just over a month left until December 31st, the day on which the redundancy fund expires.

The trade unions brought two proposals to the table convened by the President of the Regional Council Michele Pais: the extension of the cig, using the same rule envisaged for the former Alitalia not reabsorbed in Ita, and any developments on the project of a Sardinian company announced by Christian Solinas.

The group leaders, the councilor for work and vice president of the region Alessandra Zedda also participate in the meeting, while the workers demonstrate in via Roma.

"Today's news - says the general secretary of Filt Cgil Arnaldo Boeddu - that the national secretariats have signed the redundancy agreement for the former Alitalia who remained outside the perimeter of Ita until 31 December 2022. We ask for the same treatment for Air Italy workers ". A simple "amendment to the national budget that adds the former Air Italy to the former Alitalia" is enough.

William Zonca, regional secretary of Uil Trasporti, maintains that "nothing has changed to date, except the fact that the days relating to the procedure for the next layoffs pass". He thus asks "what happened to the project of the Region which concerned the hypothetical regional rib of Ita".

On the redundancy fund: "We want equal dignity with respect to other companies, so we ask for an extension so that these professionals are not lost when the market picks up".

According to Emiliano Baragatti, national secretary of the NPC, "the situation is paradoxical: we have an airline in liquidation with all the workers and certifications and territorial continuity awarded to a foreign company. The integrated efforts of Sardinia and Lombardy must be in the direction of industrial project of a company that employs Italian personnel ".
