"A new block of layoffs, including for those companies that have or are going out of business, to have 12 months of Cigs. And a Dl in the next few days, to have a Covid layoff of 13 weeks extendable by a further 13. weeks ". These are the hypotheses being examined after the dispatch of the dismissal letters to 1,322 Air Italy workers, after the expiry of the Cig on 31 December. The news was announced by the general secretary of Filt-Cgil Sardegna, Arnaldo Boeddu, at the end of the meeting with the regional councilor for work Alessandra Zedda regarding the Airitaly dispute. Also present were the executives and officials of ASPAL, who supported the Region on active employment policy projects that were approved and financed by the EU for 85% through Feg funds.

"By the morning a report will be drawn up, signed by everyone, including the trade unions to be sent to the competent ministers and to the Lombardy Region itself so that this region can do what we have done here in Sardinia - explains Boeddu - I am satisfied with the results of today's meeting because everyone reiterated the need to avert Naspi (unemployment) and therefore continue the work to have the dismissal letters withdrawn. This could be facilitated by measures that, in these hours, the Government would be launching ".

For the union leader "it being understood that the Region of Sardinia is doing everything possible to find a solution and give a perspective, an indispensable action would be to establish a single pool of air transport workers since this strategic sector that is facing a crisis never seen before must be supported and must safeguard all professional figures ".

In the meantime, a new workers' presidency is scheduled for tomorrow, organized by the various trade unions. The appointment is for 10 in Piazza San Silvestro in Rome, one step away from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

SOLINAS: "AT THE SIDE OF THE WORKERS" - "We said from the very first moment, in 2019, that we are ready to do our part and as a Region we have worked to find a solution to the employment problem and to bring the Air Italy dispute to the attention The Region has sided with the workers from the beginning, reaffirming a principle that we still consider current and sacrosanct: the State must assume its responsibilities, treat these workers with the same yardstick used for Alitalia employees and seek a solution to one of the most important national disputes ". This was reiterated by the President of the Region Christian Solinas after the videoconference meeting that took place this morning, which was attended by the Regional Councilor for Labor, Alessandra Zedda, the unions and former Air Italy workers. Objective of the meeting: to arrive at a unified written proposal between the two regions involved - Sardinia and Lombardy - for the immediate blocking of layoffs, the request to participate in a technical table to be activated with the competent ministries and the introduction of extraordinary measures to part of the Government so that the curtain does not fall on a major national dispute such as that of Air Italy.

Today's meeting follows those of recent days. "We never stopped, not even during these holidays, we continued to work to find a way out, a solution that contemplated concrete proposals to be presented to the Government", explained Councilor Zedda, highlighting the possible opportunities related to the decree law being studied by Mario Draghi's Executive, aimed at supporting some of the sectors most affected by the crisis linked to Covid, including transport.

"It is necessary, in the light of the measures being studied by the Government, to keep attention on the Air Italy dispute in order to include the blocking of dismissals, the extension of the redundancy fund for termination of activity and a regulatory instrument to support income in the decree law under consideration. like the one studied for the former Alitalia ", Councilor Zedda continued." Necessary and urgent - he went on - is also to provide for another regulatory instrument, this time specific and extraordinary, for air transport that is also perfectly combined with the of active policies for an appropriate period of at least 36 months, with particular attention also to the confirmation of licenses and patents typical of Air Italy workers and in general of air transport ". The regions of Sardinia and Lombardy, concluded the exponent of the Giunta Solinas, "are also asking to be able to participate with their technical proposals as well as another table to be activated with the competent ministries".
