The Council of Ministers today approved the Aid bis decree which contains urgent measures against the high cost of living.

The document signed at Palazzo Chigi allocates resources for over 14 billion and also concerns drought, support for household incomes and the activities of companies in difficulty due to the energy crisis. Here are some of the main items.

PENSIONS CHAPTER - The revaluation of pensions is brought forward by three months with checks that will increase by 2 percent starting from October and will be recognized for those up to € 2,692.

FISCAL WEDGE - In the second half of this year, the cut in the tax wedge rises to 1.8 percent for incomes of up to 35 thousand euros.

DROUGHT - The Aid Decree establishes that a state of emergency due to drought can also be declared as a preventive measure based on information and climatological data.

BILLS - 5 billion have been allocated for the reduction of electricity and gas bills: "To reduce the effects of price increases in the electricity sector - the provision states - the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment the fourth quarter of 2022, the rates relating to general electricity system charges applied to domestic users and non-domestic low voltage users, for other uses, with available power up to 16.5 kW ".

PETROL - The discount on fuels is extended until 20 September.

PSYCHOLOGIST BONUS - The government has decided to strengthen the psychologist bonus with an extra 5 million euros. The allocation goes from 10 to 15 million euros for this year.

DRAGHI - Today's decree "of extraordinary proportions", said Prime Minister Mario Draghi at the press conference, adding: "I thank all those who participated in this sharing and I especially want to thank Minister Franco who this year and last year produced 3 financials? Four financials? In short, together with the entire structure of the ministry, it has produced an extraordinary effort that I do not think has precedents ".
