Not just music. The Melos Festival is not a simple series of traveling concerts: at each stage the concert is associated with presentations of the place hosting the event and the reading of poems or literary pieces from the regional heritage. After the preview in Krakow, the event organized by the Saser Study Center returns to the island and inaugurates the Sardinian events on Sunday 19 May at 8.30pm in the Rosario church in Sassari .

The protagonists will be the pianists Roberto Piana and Olesya Romanko , veterans of the success of Krakow, together with the actress Lella Cucca and the art historian Alessandro Ponzeletti, who will illustrate the history and characteristics of the church of the Madonna del Rosario, known to the people of Sassari simply as the church of Rosario, built in the 17th century.

The concert program includes pieces for two and four hands. Son portrait , A te and Moresca by Lao Silesu will be performed; five pictorial Preludes by Roberto Piana; Margaritki by Sergei Rachmaninoff; Song of India from Sadko by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov; Songs from the Sea, Op. 53: Thoughts on water by Enrico Vallone; Dance impressions by Roberto Piana; La Barcheta by Reynaldo Hahn, Après une Lecture de Liszt by Roberto Piana; Adagio from Spartacus by Aram Khachaturian. The concert will be interspersed with poems by Grazia Deledda, Sebastiano Satta, Angela Mundula, Maria Carta recited by Lella Cucca.
