Olbia beats Atletico Uri 2-0 in the derby of the 16th day of Serie D and wins 3 precious points, rising to 16 points in the standings, 4 points from direct salvation, one round from the halfway point. But yesterday's victory, which comes in a direct clash and follows the bad defeat suffered by Sarnese, goes beyond what is at stake. "Because it confirms the value of this team by demonstrating that the defeat in Sarno was an accident along the way", underlined Lorenzo De Grazia, one of Olbia's most representative players, in the post-match.
After the coaches Zé Maria and Massimiliano Paba in the press room of the “Nespoli” the midfielder of the whites appeared, who explained: “Today it was important to win the derby, which for us was also a match of revenge: we are there, the quality is there, and the ranking is a bit misleading, because it does not reflect the value of our squad. We could have done more, if we have these points there is a reason, but let's move forward to finish the year and see what will happen in the last match”. Of 2024 and the first half of the season at home to Gelbison fifth in the standings.
Meanwhile yesterday, in the post-match, Zé Maria invited his players to enjoy the success and rest, giving them an appointment for tomorrow to resume training in view of what the Olbia coach defined as "a difficult match". While on the other side the Atletico Uri coach, stopped in third-last place with 13 points, was licking his wounds. "It was yet another important performance wasted due to poor scoring ability: we created a lot but we were not good at taking advantage of the opportunities", said Paba.
“Olbia were cynical and good at scoring two goals from three shots in the 90 minutes. Considering the skill of their goalkeeper (Di Chiara) and the crossbar, things are not going well. I don't deny that there is concern and the desire to understand where we need to improve to reverse this trend, but we are not resigned, let's be clear,” he added. “We are used to living these situations, but let's see what happens in these days: as a coach I am not exempt from evaluations”.
Side notes. The goals, scored in the second half by 19-year-old Marroni (his second goal of the season) assisted by his peer Petrone and by Costanzo (his fourth goal) served by De Grazia, improved Olbia's goal difference, which for the second time in the championship ended the match with a clean sheet. A sore point was the yellow card received by the suspended Staffa, which triggered the disqualification preventing the captain from participating in the away match on the Gelbison pitch.
