At 7 pm the turnout in Sardinia stood at 36.88%, 9 percentage points less than in the last administrative round , when it was 45.89%. At 12 it was 17.1%.

Voting is held in 39 municipalities on the island: the two main ones, those with over 15,000 inhabitants for which there is the possibility of going to the ballot on 11 and 12 June. They are Iglesias and Assemini: in the first the turnout is 36.32%, in the second just 25.61% .

Polling stations remain open until 11pm and voting will continue tomorrow, Monday 29 May, from 7am to 3pm.

Looking at the data by province, the highest turnout is recorded in the Sassari area (42.67%) , then in the provinces of Oristano and Nuoro (respectively at 39.81 and 39.8). In Southern Sardinia it stands at 37.92%, however it is much lower in the two municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari (28.3%) .

With the turnout data at 7 pm, the island has already elected its first 9 mayors , in as many municipalities where only one list has been presented and a 40% quorum is sufficient for the election. There is a need for at least 50% of the votes cast to be valid, but this is a formality.

Here they are, the nine mayors elected: Francesco Sanna in Collinas, Nicola Cau in Furtei, Fabio Moi in Seui , Gianmarco Atzei in Simala, Sandro Marchi in Villa Verde, Franco Solinas in Galtellì, Ignazio Porcu in Irgoli, Carlo Lai in Jerzu and Luigi Pinna in Chiaramonti .

Marco Demuro in Aglientu and Gian Giuseppe Vargiu in Narbolia are also very close to quorum.

Turnout also down at national level for ballots in 7 provincial capitals and 34 municipalities: the figure is 27.65%, down on the first round (35.95%) .
