Actor Carl Weathers has died at the age of 76. In Italy, and not only, he became well known for playing the role of Apollo Creed in the Rocky film saga, with Sylvester Stallone.
Apollo Creed, in the first episode, is the world heavyweight champion who beats the Italian-American boxer played by Stallone.
In the second film of the saga, Rocky II, the challenger beats the world champion in a match that ends only in the last second of the 15th round with Creed's knockout.
In Rocky III, Apollo instead becomes Rocky's trainer and helps him regain the title after his defeat against Clubber Lang.
Apollo dies under the blows of the Russian Ivan Drago in the fourth episode. And Rocky will have to get back into shape to avenge his friend in the ring.
