Shouts of joy, confetti, and hugs from his children: this is how Achille Polonara was welcomed into his family upon returning home after the bone marrow transplant he underwent on September 25 at the Sant'Orsola hospital in Bologna to treat leukemia.

The former Virtus basketball player, now a member of Sassari, posted photos of his return on Instagram. Chef Bruno Barbieri and a plate of tortellini were also waiting for him.

A report on Le Iene, which will be broadcast this evening, is also dedicated to the return home of the "Pupazzo".

Just a few days ago, Polonara revealed, in a report on Le Iene, that he had been in a coma for ten days due to a cerebral embolism : "They told me there was a 90% chance I'd die. When I was in a coma, I felt like I was in another city. But don't get rid of me so easily: I made a promise to Erika," he said, referring to his wife.
