A terrible accident ended the life of Cristian Ghilli, 19, world junior skeet champion. Yesterday he was with some friends in the woods of Montecatini Val di Cecina, in the Pisan area, on a hunting trip when a shot was accidentally fired from his rifle while he was bent over to collect the shells. The shot reached him in the abdomen and in one hand.

Immediately rescued, he immediately appeared in very serious condition. Transported in code red to the hospital in Cecina, he underwent surgery to stop the bleeding but the young man died during the operation.

"Cristian was a sunny, playful and funny boy, with a smile always ready to show off, a friend of everyone, generous, kind, loyal - wrote Fitav Toscana on Facebook -. Fearsome opponent but only on the platform, with a moral attitude of a True Champion, and the competitive greatness equal to a Professional, even if still of such a young age. All of Fitav Tuscany remembers him for his sporting achievements, but above all for the good boy he was, and for all the carefree and happy moments spent together, on and off the platform, away or in training, together with him he starts a beautiful journey that is that of the Youth Sector, through which he had grown a lot as a competitor and as a person ".
