From clichés to new languages, from the big screen to the revolution of streaming platforms. These are some of the themes that will be addressed in the 4th edition of the Festival “Abbàida! Luoghi comuni sul cinema”, the event promoted and organized by the cultural association Cineclub "Nuovo Aguaplano", scheduled in Sassari from 16 to 19 September in the Exma.Ter theater in via Zanfarino.
Artistic director Sergio Scavio explains: «The festival will bring together actors, directors and professionals in the sector to reflect on what it means to make cinema today and to start a useful reflection to defuse the clichés about the seventh art, trying to create new ones. The ambition is to organize a festival that can become a point of reference for research cinema in Sardinia, also rediscovering new sites, Argentiera for example, where next year we hope to host the festival».
Born from the ashes of the successful Rebeccu Film Festival of Bonorva, in 2022 hosted in Genoni, Abbàida will host some talents of the new Italian cinema: Fulvio Risuleo, a young Roman director but also a cartoonist and writer; Giovanni C. Lorusso from Sassari, already a member of the Cineclub, returning from the 81st Venice International Film Festival with his documentary “A Man Fell”; Alain Parroni, also a producer and screenwriter, the new enfant terrible of Italian cinema; the actor from Cagliari, Luciano Curreli.
